The "our" in process is intentional. Jess creates a work method not just for, but with you. One that is accessible for everyone involved in the project. Skip to anchor links provided for work stages and client prep-work.
These are general stages for a project. The full process is up to everyone involved! You'll create a plan customized for your access together.
Get to know each other. Go through the project outline, budget, time frame, and desires. Not sure how to prepare? Jess will do an access check before you connect.
Some accessibility practices include:
Video or audio virtual meetings. Jess uses Google Meet but is open to platforms. Email or text options. Breaks or scheduling shorter sessions for fatigue. Screen recordings and transcripts.
Jess will prepare a contract [unless you have one]. It will include the project brief, assets, schedule, estimate, and payment plan. After you approve with a signature, the work begins! Jess uses Adobe Sign but please let her know if you prefer another way.
Stages vary by the scope of work. Identities have a concept with revisions, before creating assets. Websites use a wireframe or approval during development. Illustrations start with rough sketches. Edits continue until clients get what they need [within a contract].
Jess can present work in meetings for visual/audial learners or send documents with thought prompts for tactile learners. Clients can give feedback however they wish.
Jess sends a final preview to approve before exporting assets. Design identities use a style guide draft before getting all files and templates. Websites need approval before launch. Illustrations use clean raster drawings as the preview, before making vectors.
A transfer of assets for payment. Jess is hyper-aware of financial barriers. She uses adaptable payment methods. Prices are based on business size, budget, and support. Jess works with you to create a fair agreement. Instalments and creative options are available.
Current pay methods are e-transfer, PayPal, bank wires, cash, or cheque. Jess is in Canada and cannot accept Venmo, CashApp, etc. GST/HST rates apply for Canadian projects.
Unsure of what Jess might need? Here are prompts! No need to have all the answers. You'll figure out the project together at the initial meet.
Ready to get started? Let's connect and build something unique together.
